Individual Therapy

For treating individuals I treat you systemically and holistically. MFT’s broaden the traditional emphasis on the individual to attend to the nature and role of individuals in primary relationship networks.

I help individuals separates themself from their problem. I encourages people to rely on their own skills to minimize problems that exist in their lives and assist them in deconstructing their personal narrative that is often problematic. Throughout life, personal experiences become personal stories. People give these stories meaning, and the stories help shape a person’s identity. Narrative therapy uses the power of these stories to help people discover their life purpose and to begin writing a new narrative which leads to improve self concept. Much of our emotional state is fueled by our thought processes and people often don't challenge their own thought process or self narrative but rather accept them. This leads to depressed mood and states of anxiety.

Talk therapy is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, etc.

What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which  the therapist assists a single person in working through personal issues they have been facing. Sessions are held weekly in a standing appointment for the duration of your decided upon treatment goals or as needed. Sometimes the therapist will offer therapeutic homework or suggest resources for in-between sessions.
